How To Get Microsoft Phone Link App

Your Phone Companion app has been replaced by Microsoft Phone Link, which lets you sort your messages, get calls, and use your mobile apps on your PC. If you have Windows 10 or Windows 11, the Phone Link app will already be on your PC. Just look for “Phone Link” in the Start menu. If you are using Windows 10 and can’t find Phone Link, you may need to update to a newer version of Windows 10 or download Phone Link from the Microsoft Store.

  • Many Samsung and HONOR phones come with the Link to Windows (LTW) app.

Want to sync your smartphone with your PC? Visit www.aka.ms/linkphoneqr after installing Link to Windows software in your Android smartphones. Your Android phone connects to Phone Link by Wi-Fi, mobile data, or instant hotspot. Both your PC and Android smartphone should be close, powered on, and on the same network for Wi-Fi connection. While online, your PC may use its functions. 

If you start from your Windows PC:

  • Type Phone Link in the taskbar search box and pick the app.
  • Choose Android.
  • Sign in to your Microsoft account
  • Open an online browser on your Android device, and then type in the link www.aka.ms/linkphoneqr
  • The link app uses the same Microsoft account as your PC. After opening the app, a QR code will appear for scanning.
  • Return to your PC and confirm I have the Link to Windows app installed on my phone after signing in. Click Pair with QR code.
  • QR codes display on PC screens. The companion app on Android should open to a camera screen. This web page lets you scan your PC’s QR code.
  • Android devices need many permissions after linking. These permissions provide PC access to phone content.

If you start from your Android device:

  • Open a browser on your Android device, type www.aka.ms/linkphoneqr in the browser, and then download the Link to Windows app. 
  • It will ask you to launch Link to Windows, pre-installed on Android.
  • The companion app uses the same Microsoft account as your PC.
  • After logging in, scan your PC’s QR code. Open www.aka.ms/linkphoneqr on your PC to go there.
  • Link your Android and PC by scanning the QR code on your PC with the companion app’s camera.
  • You’ll need device permissions to view things on your phone and PC.
